Build an efficient continuous CBAM workflow
Use monthly or quarterly checkpoints as internal controls, not as a claim that the definitive declaration itself is quarterly. A continuous workflow keeps imports, supplier evidence, reviews, and the annual working package aligned.
How to make this practical
Clarify scope
Bring affected HS/CN codes, suppliers, and goods flows into one review list.
Review data
Check quantities, supplier evidence, and emissions values before declaration.
Export a working package
Reviewed data becomes a reliable annual working package for the registry workflow.
Context
Operational context
In the definitive CBAM regime, import data should be maintained continuously and reconciled during the year, while the legal CBAM declaration covers the preceding calendar year. Keep scope decisions, source data, supplier evidence, emissions reviews, and approvals together in one audit trail. CBAM-OK creates a structured annual working package for entry in the CBAM Registry or review by an adviser. It does not submit a declaration automatically and does not currently label an XML file as filing-ready.
